PRM backs call for anti-hopping law

JOHOR BARU: Parti Rakyat Malaysia (PRM) has expressed its full support for DAP chairman Karpal Singh’s call for an anti-hopping law.

PRM secretary-general S.K. Song said that Karpal Singh was truly a Malaysian patriot living true to his beliefs for a clean, moral and transparent leadership.

“In fact, our party has said the same thing in calling for anti-hopping as early as last April after the general election.

“That was when Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim first hinted at welcoming MPs to join Pakatan Rakyat,” he said, adding that Lim Kit Siang and Lim Guan Eng should support Karpal Singh.

Song said in a statement that his party also supported Karpal Singh’s call for moral leaders.

“He openly criticised Pakatan and DAP leaders for the party-hopping that has been happening,” he said.

Song said Karpal Singh now risked being sidelined by the party for speaking out.
“It has happened before to DAP stalwarts such as Gooi Hock Seng and me,” he said.
