PRM mengutuk perbuatan ganas melempar bom minyak

28-9-2008

Kepada Pengarang yang dihormati,

PRM mengutuk kuat perbuatan ganas melempar molotov cocktail

From: GOH CHUIN LOON
Subject: Fwd: Parti Rakyat's (NOT PKR) critical incident
To: Date: Wednesday, 1 October, 2008, 9:27 AM

DEAR ALL,

IF WE BELIEVE IN SO-CALLED DEMOCARCY, WE SHOULD NOT LET ANY BULLYING HAPPEN IN THIS COUNTRY, MAY IT BE PAKATAN RAKYAT OR BN, WE MUST FOLLOW VERY CLOSELY EVERY MOVE THEY MAKE USING INTERNET AND EMAILS.

IF WE BELIEVE IN SO-CALLED DEMOCRACY, SO DOES PKR, I ASSUME, (I HOPE SO) I WONDER WHY THEY HAVE THAT KIND OF REACTION I HIGHLIGHTED IN RED? IS THAT THE RIGHT BEHAVIOR A DEMOCRACY-BELIEVER SHOULD HAVE?

IS DEMOCRACY NOT ABOUT RESPECTING OTHERS' RIGHT TO EXIST EVEN IF WE DONT AGREE WITH THEIR POLITICAL BELIEVES?

MY HOPE FOR FORWARDING THIS MAIL TO YOU IS THAT U CAN HELP FORWARD TO ALL THE PKR/ALL PAKAT RAKYAT/BN FRIENDS U HAVE,

FORWARD TO ALL JOURNALIST FRIENDS U HAVE,

FORWARD TO ALL MEDIA CHANNELS YOU KNOW.

FORWARD TO ALL FRIENDS WHO DISAGREE WITH ANY FORM OF OPPRESSION/BULLYING,

FORWARD TO ALL FRIENDS WHO WOULD LIKE TO AVOID POTENTIAL DICTATORSHIP. (IF PKR CAN DO THIS TO PRM TODAY, THEY WILL DEFINITELY BEHAVE LIKE ANY DICTATOR IF THEY R IN POWER.) (REALLY, WE DONT NEED ANOTHER OPPRESSOR ANYMORE, 20+ YEARS WAS LOOOOOOOOOOONG ENOUGH.)

FORWARD TO ALL FRIENDS WHO ARE NOT CYNICS, WHO STILL LONG TO BUILD THIS COUNTRY THROUGH HEALTHY POLITICS AND NOT DIRTY POLITICKING (THESE 2 ARE DIFFERENT, IN CASE U FORGET.)

HOPEFULLY THIS CRITICAL INCIDENT OF PAKATAN RAYAT MALAYSIA CAN GET FAIR COVERAGE/ATTENTION.

REMEMBER!!! 9/10/08 IS NOT JUZ ABOUT PAKLAH'S DECISION, THERE IS THIS ONE MORE INCIDENT THAT MAY NEED YOUR ATTENTION.

THANK U FOR BELIEVING IN POWER OF EMAIL AND FORWARDING THIS MAIL.

TO THE VERY LEAST, I HOPE THIS MAIL WILL MAKE U ASK, "WHAT/WHO IS PAKATAN RAKYAT MALAYSIA?"

THANK U AND SELAMAT HARI RAYA (HAVE FUN DESPITE THE FACT THAT THE SKY OUT THERE IS QUITE GLOOMY.)____________________________________-

Hai Chuin Loon,

Sorry for the delay in telling you the story of the court case that PRM will be facing on 9 October 2008 in KL.

Incident leading to PRM court case over PRM’s registration

To say it briefly, it all started with the merger between PRM and Keadilan.

When the question of merging PRM and Keadilan was put forward, members were suspicious The merger proposal was accepted on condition that the registration of PRM be kept dormant, in case Keadilan in the end of the day had decided to go back to UMNO, PRM members could reactivate PRM. That means there was reservation and opposition over the merger proposal.

Decision to dissolve PRM

But, some how the CWC decision to keep the PRM registration dormant was overthrown without the knowledge of the CWC, eventhough CWC finally accepted the dissolution of PRM when the merger is effected. PRM National Congress too passed a resolution to dissolve PRM.

The split

Of course, such a turn of event also means the split in PRM is unavoidable. Many who did not want merger and disagreed with the dissolution of PRM chose not to be active.

Congress to let members dissolve PRM

Even so, the members were assured by PRM leadership upon questioning in the National Congress that PRM would hold a Congress to allow members to dissolve PRM themselves if the merger reaches stability.

NO annual returns, PRM will be dissolved straight away

But I received a letter dated 28 February 2005 from ROS. the letter was sent to President and Sec gen too. Frankly speaking, I did not know what it was about. I asked the others and finally my present President Sdr Hassan, a lawyer.

Sdr hassan told me that it was a show cause letter because since 2001 PRM leadership have not submitted annual returns to the Registrar of Society ROS, the year the National Congress passed the resolution to merge with Keadilan.

I foresaw such a scenario would take place, but not that soon ie in 2001. I thought it would only begin in 2003 when Keadilan Rakyat had been launched .

ROS would strike off PRM registration if there was no reply to the letter. It surprised us. In fact, if I was not a treasurer, this would be the end for PRM.

ROS retain prm as a registered Party

So, members who refused to go over to Parti Keadilan rakyat decided to hold a special congress on 17 April 2005 in Johore Baru. We approached ROS after that. We submitted the annual returns and ROS was satisfied. PRM retained its registration.

The court case

Those in PKR were not happy with ROS decision. Eight former PRM leaders including Dr Syed Husin, Dr Sanusi and his son Faisal, Sivarasiah, Latifah Koya(F), Tai Kim Tat, Ban Ah Kam , Lim Yong Pang and Parti Rakyat Malaysia went to KL high court and got a mandamus to ask ROS to reconsider to dissolve PRM.

Since it affects PRM members interest, we decided to intervene in the process. We engage a lawyer. We need to look for legal fee through donations from members and supporters.

So, this is the story, I hope it is clear.

Thank you for donating.
